"Each transaction is unique but needs to follow some steps to increase the likelihood of a positive outcome. The key points in these steps are preparation and trust."

This week’s episode is going to be very valuable to Finance Directors, CFO’s, transaction professionals and company owners. We will be diving into enterprise valuation and transactions with an highly respected expert within corporate finance in Belgium. Daniel Kroes is the partner Corporate Finance at RSM Belgium.

My guest today is the former chairman of the institute of Chartered Auditors of Belgium and in his spare time a judge with the commercial court of Brussels. Daniel has more than 30 years of relevant experience within corporate finance.

Daniel starts off by giving us an overview of the key elements to look at when performing an enterprise valuation. Trust me it’s more than only the multiple of the EBITDA.

Each transaction is unique but needs to follow some steps to increase the likelihood of a positive outcome. The key points in these steps are preparation and trust.

So where can it go wrong? There are many variables and Daniel gives a good overview of where issues might pop up and how to solve them.

For most company owners, going through a transaction is typically a once in a life time experience, that’s why Daniel gives us a frame work on how this is done, from the buyers side, which makes it very insightful for the sellers to know.

It’ been an pleasure to have Daniel on our podcast and to get a glimpse of the world of enterprise valuation, due diligence and transactions.

I enjoyed this insightful conversation with Daniel so without further ado, have fun listening to this episode on enterprise valuations, frame work and key steps in transactions with Daniel Kroes.
